We are so thrilled when Juno was lucky enough to be selected for the imaginative Story-Making Workshop jointly organised by Eliko Picture Books & things and Zip Zap Zoom Collective!

Held over three days, the sessions took place in Eliko — famously known as Singapore’s tiniest bookshop in Chinatown — a cozy 2.4m by 2.4m reading room packed with vintage and out-of-print picture books sourced from around the world.

As part of the programme, the children went for a walk exploring the levels of the Chinatown Complex. Surrounded by the vibrant sights, sounds and smells of the hawker and wet market complex, the kids were completely immersed in a lively cultural atmosphere.

Led by theatre artists Regina Foo and Jeremy Leong, Juno and the other participants used imaginative story cards, props and object play to draw their chosen characters (of course, Juno drew dragons!), weave them into original stories, and bring their fairy tales to life.

Even in such a cosy space, the children learned to listen, collaborate, and make room for each other’s big ideas and friendships.

All their stories were captured on video to be presented during the inaugural Singapore Independent Bookshop Day on 3 October 2026 (Saturday) at Eliko.
